The 2025 Premier Lacrosse League held their annual All-Star Game on Saturday, with six players sent to represent the Denver Outlaws. Attacker Brennan O’Neil took center stage, winning the game’s Most Valuable Player award with two goals, three assists and a two-point score.
Long stick midfielder Jake Piseno went in tandem with O’Neil being the two Outlaws’ to start in the game, while Logan McNaney, Pat Kavanagh, Dalton Young and Ryan Terefenko all made appearances off the bench. However, the conference-leading six Outlaws didn’t stop there, with Denver Head Coach Tim Soudan and Assistant Coach Jeremy Boltus taking the reins of Team West. O’Neil, McNaney, Kavanagh and Piseno also competed in the PLL Skill Competition Challenges on Friday.
Saturday marked O’Neil and Piseno’s second time making the All-Star Game in their careers. O’Neil leads the league with 44 shots, ensuing in his eight goals and six assists so far this season. Piseno’s been a Swiss Army knife all year for the Outlaws, with two goals, three assists, four caused turnovers and 14 groundballs. It was Terefenko’s fourth career All-Star appearance, getting the nod from his three goals and ten ground balls on the year.
Three Outlaws made their All-Star debut; McNaney, Kavanagh and Young. Kavanagh, who Denver traded for last offseason, has posted 12 goals and seven assists, including a five score night against the California Redwoods. His counterpart Young has scored in four of the five games he’s played it, ending his first-half resume with six goals and two assists. Denver’s goalkeeper, McNaney, has had an impressive rookie season, saving 45 shots while only allowing 29 goals in his three games. He’s averaged a 62.5% save percentage during that stretch, never having a game finish below 60%.
Thanks to help from the various Outlaws, Team West ended up winning 15-13. To go off O'Neil’s MVP night, Piseno put up impressive stats with a two-point goal and two assists. Kavanagh got on the board with two goals in his All-Star debut, and McNaney also saw some action collecting seven saves with a 46.7% save percentage.
The Denver Outlaws resume play and look to continue their win streak this Saturday against the Maryland Whipsnakes at 7:30 p.m. MT.
